Car Fire Stories

Testimonies of Car Fires

Jointer West
For the first time my grandmother was coming over to spend the night with us at our house. We were almost home when the car stopped working. After opening the hood a fire shot out. We all had to hurry out of the car. My grandmother had trouble getting out because she was a very big woman. My father and a friend tried putting the fire out with my grandmothers blanket. It only got caught on fire and burned up with it. The fire department came and put the fire out before the entire car was burned. I believe they arrived during our walk home.

Another car fire was near the house out by the road. We got in it and when we tried to start the car, a fire was started in the engine compartment. That fire was put out quickly with dirt from the road. I learned that a fire can put out with dirt and sand. I also learned that a leaking fuel line can cause a fire. This was not to long after the latter car fire had burned just down the road.

On another time an out board motor caught on fire. We were trying to throw dirt and everything else on it. When my dad realized we had a water hose hooked to the foot. We were fighting very hard to put the fire out. When we had stopped and thought the engine was going to burn up. The solution was found. It was the Grace of God on all three fires that no one got burnt.

My Grandfather, and my Grandmother both were in a trailer that burned down. I was not born during that time, but I heard about the story. My Grandmother was inside when everyone else managed to get out. My Dad ran in and got her out the fire.

Fires break out all the time. Its scary knowing that people get burned up in them. A pear back in the third grade at school lost his mother in a fire. He faced what I believe was one of the hardest things any kid can face. His testimony is very grievous. I am very blessed to have not had to go through what he went through.

My grandmother has never stayed with us. She has visited us. But the last chance for her to spend the night with us, was the day that her blanket burned up. Thanks to God my grandmother was able to get out of the car before the fire got in the cab. And thanks to him she survived that trailer fire. It is wonderful to have known my Grandmother. Thats better than if she had ever spent the night over. I would rather have my grandmother live, then to have her spend the night over.
