However, because of the immense popularity of the crossover vehicle, there seems to be no lack of them on the current vehicle market. Even though there may be a massive number of options when it comes to choosing a crossover vehicle, however, for consumers who truly want the top of the line, there is only one real choice, and that choice is the 2007 Acura RDX.
Many may be aware of the Acura MDX, the companies highly acclaimed full size SUV vehicle. However, the RDX is the smaller, and more "friendly" version of the MDX. In fact, while the vehicles do differ slightly in appearance, even from the outside of the RDX, it is easy to see what has made the vehicle such a popular and best selling model. Even for a crossover, the RDX has so many sleek lines and interesting design ideas that it is hard to keep track of.
An interesting and somewhat aggressive front end, coupled with a curvy body line and an equally styled back end make sure that the RDX is far from boring, no matter what angle one is looking at it from. The wheels of the vehicle are appropriately sized, and they add a lot to the overall exterior appearance. The vehicle body is set low, and the RDX definitely manages to set itself apart from other vehicles on the market. The RDX transcends the idea of what an SUV could hope to be, and is actually more stylish than a good majority of the vehicles on the road today.
However, while the exterior is definitely superb, perhaps one of the best parts about the RDX is the interior. With very high quality materials, swooping and smooth design, and the feeling of sitting in a far more expensive vehicle. Some RDX packages also provide the driver with built in navigation systems. The premium sound system is simply superb, and the supple leather seats make sure that all of the passengers as well as the driver are very comfortable.
Even though the body size may be based on a smaller platform, there is definitely plenty of room inside the RDX, and it can easily seat five or six passengers comfortably. At night, the high definition headlights and soft blue interior glow make night trips even more fun.
As good as the interior and exterior are, however, it does not make sense to buy a vehicle unless the driving ability of the car is equally high. Thankfully, the RDX provides a smooth comfortable ride, very adaptable handling, and an incredibly quiet ride. The RDX handles far greater than one would expect an SUV to move, and body roll is kept to a minimum thanks to the special suspension system, which comes stock with the vehicle.
However, the only complaint that one might have with the RDX is that the four cylinder engine is slightly underpowered for moving the vehicle around. While the RDX still manages to be fairly quick, there are simply times when a little more response from the throttle would be nice. Overall though, the RDX is an amazing vehicle to drive, and even a test drive will be enough to convince most buyers that this really is the crossover vehicle they have been waiting for.
While the RDX may not be the cheapest vehicle on the market, and the engine may, at times, leave a little bit to be desired, there is no disputing the unparalleled quality and design that is the 2007 Acura RDX. From it's style to it' stunning interior, few vehicles can really hope to compare to the RDX, and it may stand as one of the best overall vehicles in the crossover market.
