This years Mustang will definitely be a great choice for your next muscle car. It has some great options, and some great new features.
Engine size this year for the GT is a 4.6 liter 24-valve SOHC V8, with dual exhaust. It is 300 horsepower with 320 pound-foot of torque. It is also available in a 4.0 liter SOHC 12-valve V6. Don't know how to drive stick? No problem! It is available in either the 5-speed stick shift, or the 5-speed automatic. But I will warn you that you will get better gas mileage with stick shift.
But it isn't too bad on gas either. At an average of 17 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, you can get both good gas mileage along with power. This is definitely hard to come by.
One of the options I found to be the most interesting was that the 2009 model offers a glass roof option. The entire roof will be made of reinforced glass. This is so much cooler than a sunroof.
The grille on this car is awesome, giving it a tough look to go along with its even tougher engine. It is an egg-crate shaped forward leaning grille that really sets off the look of the car. The sound system on this car is awesome too, with an optional 500 or 1000-Watt Shaker Audio System.
Colors available for the car this year are great too. Available in classic Black, Grabber Orange, Performance White, Dark Candy Apple Red, Brilliant Silver, Torch Red, Alloy, Vapor, and Vista Blue. The interior colors are Dark Charcoal, Light Graphite, and Medium Parchment.
The instrument panel this year has MyColor Instrument Lighting. This awesome new feature allows you to choose from 125 different color combinations. This also comes standard on the V6 Premium, and GT Premium. Also available is the Ambient Lighting which lights up the front cup holders as well as all the footwells, and is available in many different colors.
Also available is the new Navigation System that combines DVD mapping with Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. It has a color LCD touch screen, and also has a voice route guidance feature.
As usual, the Mustang will be available in six different models. These are the Shelby GT500, GT, GT Premium, Bullitt, V6, and V6 premium. Each model has different options and comes with different standard equipment.
I have a personal attachment to Mustangs, so some may call me biased, but I know you'll love this car as much as I do the first time you get behind the wheel. It is a great car, and offers everything you could possibly want and more.
