2 cups flour
1/2 cup butter
1 cup pecans (halved)
1 cup packed brown sugar
Topping
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup butter
preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all of the crust ingredients, except the pecans. Beat at medium speed until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Take mixture and press into the bottom of an un-greased 13 x 9 inch cake pan. Place pecans over the unbaked crust evenly. Combine 2/3 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar in kettle. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the surface of the mixture begins to bubble all over(continue to stir for 1 minute). Pour the mixture over the pecans and crust. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the caramel is bubbling all over. (DO NOT OVER BAKE-THEY WILL TEND TO BE VERY CHEWY AND TOUGH).
Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, let the chocolate chips melt, then take a knife and swirl the chocolate over the bars giving the bars a marbled look to them.
Cool completely, cut and serve.
