Almost everyone now knows that excessive carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is one of the major causes of climate change. Up to 75 percent of CO is produced by burning fossil fuels. Vast amounts of gas, oil, peat and coal are consumed in the western world and used for heating, industry, power and transport; especially long-haul air travel which is now viewed as one of the major accelerators in climate change.

Some environmentalists believe that we are all ready too late to reverse the affect of carbon dioxide and climate change. They argue that Forest planting is only a temporary solution and that the new Carbon Credits Offset Schemes are merely delaying the inevitable. On a personal level, if it means turning off a few lights, turning down the heating or not flying long haul unless absolutely necessary I would be willing to give up these luxeries in order to "do my bit" for the environment.

If you take account of your own personal carbon doixide omissions and try to reduce by up to a quarter; perhaps we still have time to reverse the damage that we have done to mother nature and our own future generations lives.

Could these ideas we pander to be an offshoot of a naturally occurring phenomenon that continue to grow in intensity around the world as we determine their value and self-worth, could we be in The End Days of that philosophy we have been schooled as gospel? Will this century be our own undoing or our salvation? Will we overcome these adversities we face in ever changing weather patterns, will we accept our responsibility as stewards of this planet's ailing and toxic environmental conditions? Can we make amends for our lack of integrity in our personal relationships in lieu of a monetary profit? Can we put the Jennie back in the Trees and remove the debris fields from our Streams and Rivers? Will we reinstate our promised longevity that was granted us when we were given the boot for a previous mistake? Australia has been highlighted as a starting point in our undoing... many times over, why hasn't anyone been listening? Neurology is deeply rooted in the areas from deep Down Unde

Great written piece for the environment! Very straight-forward, simple, and to the point.

I agree with you and recently read that air travel is the most common way to pollute our atmosphere
so, what can be done? If everyone just did one thing it would help enormously
