Carbquik Recipe Ideas

Get Creative with the Revolutionary New Bake Mix

Stephanie Dray
Carbquik is a revolutionary new bake mix that is not only 90% lower in carbohydrates than Bisquik and similar bake mixes, but also substantially lower in sodium and calories. This makes Carbquik a real find for dieters and the health-conscious. Made from wheat, rather than soy, Carbquik can replace Bisquik in most recipes, cup for cup. But if you're still not sure what to make with it, here are a few ideas beyond biscuits and pancakes.

Carbquik Lasagna Pie.
Put together a base of meat and cheeses, tomato paste and herbs, then top the entire thing with a mix of Carbquik, milk and egg. The final result will be a beautiful Italian casserole topped with a garlic bread crust. A recipe for this one-dish casserole can be found with a quick goggle search for "impossible lasagna pie" and modified to your own health needs. The best part? It cooks up in about thirty minutes. It'll taste like junk food, but it's filled with fiber.

Carbquik Chicken Cordon Blue
Carbquik can also serve as a stand-in for breadcrumbs. Any meat, rolled in an egg wash can then be dredged in Carbquik with excellent results. Roll up a nice chicken-cordon blue, stuffed with ham and swiss and dredge it in Carbquik flour. Top with some cream of chicken soup, and you'll have a company dish at the ready, for a minimum of carbs and calories.

Carbquik Chocolate Chip Cookies
Just substitute Carbquik for flour in your favorite cookie recipe and you will likely be surprised and delighted by the results. Carbquik doesn't rise as much as other flours, so you may wish to add some extra baking soda. But the taste and texture of the cookies will be what you've come to love, and you won't have to cheat on your diet to enjoy them.

Carbquik Impossible Coconut Pie
Take the old Bisquik staple, and get out your blender. Baking couldn't be easier. Add all the ingredients to the blender, whip it up and pour it into a pan. When you're done, the layers will separate into a bottom crust, and a top coconut layer. That's why they call it impossible.

Carbquik Tarts
Make a quick and easy pie crust dough out of Carbquik and press it into small tart pans, the thinner the better. The flavor will be like a buttery cookie that you can top with fruit, pudding, or other fillings.

These recipes and others can be modified to use Carbquik just as you'd use any other baking mix. So don't let pancakes and biscuits be the limit of your imagination. A whole new world of sweet and savory treats are now open to dieters.
