Care2.com's "Click2Donate" - Supporting Causes by Clicking
Care2.com has released Care2Donate, a site dedicated to allowing everyone to support causes by clicking one link. You can support numerous causes, from saving the rain forest to helping children. Anyone can participate in "races," a journey to raise numerous supporters for a specified cause. Every day, you may only click once for each cause. Once you click, you can further support the cause by inviting your friends to join in or by downloading and using the Care2 Toolbar.
To be further informed about your favorite cause, you can register to be a Care2.com member. By registering, you can track your progress and see how much you have helped the world. You can also receive reminders that remind you to click each day.
By taking some spare time to click a few links, you can support important causes. The races currently offered by Care2Donate are:
- Stop Global Warming Race
- Race for the Rainforest
- Race to Save Baby Seals
- Race for the Oceans
- Race for the Big Cats
- Race for the Primates
- Race to Help Children in Need
- Race for Pets in Need
- Race to End Violence Against Women
- Climb to End Breast Cancer
- Daily Action Success Journal
Although donating over the Internet at other websites is risky, Click2Donate is not. Each time you click for free, the site's supporters will match your click by donating real money to these real causes.
Care2 has a member database of almost 8 million people (displayed on the homepage). For every click in the "Race to Stop Global Warming," one pound of carbon is offset. If these 8 million members along with other nonmembers clicked to support this cause, over 8 million pounds of carbon will have been offset each day! This would greatly help the environment. If this happens every day for an entire year, about 2.9 billion pounds of carbon would be offset! Talk about changing the world!
