Career Aptitude Testing

A career aptitude test helps to see what job career is right for you. It is a test that a person can take to help understand the strengths and weaknesses that he or she may have. This test is supposed to be able to help a person find a job or career that fits the person better. Basically, it is a test to help discover which job careers are a good fit for a person based on the ability to do well at it.

Can Do:

Career aptitude testing measures your ability to learn different types of skills. It helps a person to see what they would do well at. It also helps to see if a person has the basic ability to be able to perform the task well. It tests a person's learning ability.

Measure:

Taking a career aptitude test will measure many different things that a person can do. It will show the person's ability to do and learn math. A career aptitude test will exhibit a person's fine motor skills like hand-eye coordination. It will also check a person's hearing and pitch.

Cannot Do:

This test is not based on things that you have learned in the past. It just shows your ability to learn things now. A career aptitude test shows how easy you can learn something. It will not show where your true passions and interests lay.

High School Students:

Many high school students are first introduced to the career aptitude test in high school. They are given the test to help them decide what type of job and careers they would best be suited for once they graduate high school. It shows their learning ability skills. This test helps point high school students in the right direction of which careers they should pursue.

Employers:

Employers like to use the career aptitude test when people are applying for a job with them. It helps to see which job applicants would be better suited for their company. The career aptitude test shows employers whether a job applicant will be able to do certain job tasks well. This helps to weed out applicants.

Warnings:

The career aptitude test does not take into consideration that you may actually not like doing something. It may in fact prove that although you are capable of doing a certain job well, it does not mean that you would be happy in doing it. For example, someone may be able to do math easily, but that does not mean that being a math teacher would make them happy. It is helpful to use the career aptitude test as a learning tool as to what you do well at, but that does not mean you should not also think about what also really interests you in finding a job career that is right for you.
