Career in Finance

Business is a broad area of study which includes specializations such as economic, supply chain and accounting. If choosing a career in finance, it is important to consider factors that affect why the career choice is an accomplished one. There are five movements have opened the door for many careers to blossom and develop. I believe that Netscape, Workflow software, In-forming, Out-sourcing and "the steroids" will significantly impact the financial career path.

• Firstly, Netscape and the World Wide Web made it possible for people in different countries to communicate with each other. The fiber -optic cable investment made the internet become accessible and very easy world-wide. In the financial area of study, the internet is an important tool for communication. Being a financial planner it is needed to contact clients and send information very quickly.

• Secondly, workflow software such as Microsoft Word and Excel are necessary on financial planning. Excel can be used for accounting purposes and balancing expenses and income. Microsoft Word is necessary for typing out financial reports, statements and any other written document. Productivity is increased therefore; money is saved as well as time.

• Thirdly, finding information online has become extremely simple with search engines such as Google and Yahoo. In-forming is an important aspect of financial planning as well as any other business today. For example, if someone needs help with his or her budgeting and investments, he or she might go online and research possible companies and private financial advisors. Search engines make it possible for consumers to find producers and for producers to be available to be found. If one were to have his or her own business, they could have a website created and a search engine, such as Google, would direct potential clients to their site.

• Next, out-sourcing would specifically help someone going down this career path because it would allow them to get things done that they are not specialized to do. If someone were to run their own financial consulting firm, then they would need to have people part of non-core operations to help with advertising the company in order to increase clientele. They would have to hire an outside advertising agency to help with area of operations to lower the costs of trying to do it themselves as well as having it done correctly and professionally.

• Lastly, there are the "Steroids". Steroids such as cell phones, iPods and PDA's make it possible for having information and communication with increased mobility. This is significant in the financial career path because in any business, it is important to stay mobile and reachable. PDA's are important because they organize data and schedules for important plans and meetings. PDA's in this case would also hold contact information of important clients so that one would be able to contact a client at any time if there is a message of urgency.

In conclusion, Netscape, Workflow software, In-forming, Out-sourcing, and the "Steroids", prove to be very important when it comes to business transactions and communication in general. These digital-technological advances will make my career path in finance so much easier than it would have been without them. These are advances that are taken for granted because they are used often every day.
