Careerbuilder.com Goes Wild in 2007 Super Bowl XLI Commercials

Alisha Jett Christian
Office workers know just how crazy it can be these days when trying to get a raise, a promotion or even some feedback. Careerbuilder.com created three 2007 Super Bowl XLI commercials to satirize the extreme competition and demoralizing backbiting found in many companies these days.

Careerbuilder.com did an excellent job of matching crushing football tackles with agonized employees throughout the 2007 Super Bowl XLI. I'm sure there were many football players, like those crazed employees, feeling major stress and frustration as well as elation and excitement when they found themselves at the 2007 Super Bowl Sunday night.

Careerbuilder.com: Office Jungle

Can't take volunteering for another training seminar? Neither can these stressed out employees as they run pell-mell through the jungle, screaming at the top of their lungs. Wooden pencils fly like arrows as nets fall out of the sky capturing employees who weren't quick enough getting through the water cooler obstacle course. In their hysteria and haphazard hurry to escape, the crazed employees run themselves right off a cliff, never realizing they had reached a dead end. Careerbuilder.com knows all about dead-end jobs and wants to save you from them!

Careerbuilder.com: Office Jungle Fight

Just how bad do you want that raise? Pretty bad, I'd guess! Bad enough to armor up, like these crazed employees, and fight it out to the death?

This was my ultimate favorite of the three Careerbuilder.com commercials. I laughed myself silly while I also commiserated with those poor employees. Employees dressed up in binder armor wielding telephones and folding chairs, urged on by a Post-It man, charge in to a jungle arena to duke it out over *one* promotion. The last man or woman left standing would get the prize. All of this craziness is watched over by the company execs who are quite comfortably seated underneath a pavilion, sipping drinks.

Can you identify with this? I bet many of you can!

Careerbuilder.com: Torture

Are your performance evaluations pure torture? Do you feel as if you are being forced to walk on hot coals? Is getting positive feedback much like getting a wedgie in your office? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you'll probably empathize with the tortured souls found in Careerbuilder.com's third 2007 Super Bowl XLI commercial.

The third Careerbuilder.com commercial of the night was not as funny, to me, as the first two, but it was still amusing. Whatever the case, I think Careerbuilder.com really got their point across. If you want a better job, go to Careerbuilder.com and find one!

Conclusion

Careerbuilder.com says, "Do more than just survive the workweek. A better job awaits. And Careerbuild.com has the most." After watching their commercials during the 2007 Super Bowl XLI, I'm inclined to give them a chance. Watch the commercials for yourself and then tell me what you think.

Just be careful, it's a jungle out there!

These were very funny ads. The guy with the binder clips all over his torso after a performance evaluation was too funny. Ouch! Great review!
