It's just 20-30 miles from Phoenix and about 15 miles from Tempe. It's in the shadow of the beautiful Superstition Mountains and is home of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine. The skies are blue, the air is clear, the sun is warm and there's down right good old fashioned wester hospitality here.
We heard there's a day trip or road trip around Superstition Mountains where you see some awesome scenery. We didn't take the drive because we learned about it too late. Some of the fun things we did besides shopping, was going to the Swap Meet in Mesa, which is just a few miles down the road. Wear comfortable shoes as this place is huge. You can even have lunch and a beer there. They had live entertainment, too. We went to the IMAX theater in Mesa and saw Avatar in 3D.
You can stay a this park for one night, a week, a month or the whole season. Rates are very reasonable and there's so much to do. There's something every season.
The clubhouse always has something going on from card games and pool tournaments to dance parties, pool parties, weiner roasts and coffee every morning where you can get together with your friends to start your day out right. They have breakfasts at a very reasonble price, too. We had their breakfast for just $3 for a full breakfast with lots of choices and lots to eat. Coffee is included but juice is extra.
Wifi is available in the park and I think it was free. They've been known to have professional entertainment at times, ice cream socials and craft classes, horseshoes, golf, bowling off site, bingo, aerobics, puzzles and a library. If weather permits, there's a large patio to sit and enjoy the fine Arizona weather with your friends and a good place to make new friends.
OK, the important stuff. There's 146 RV sites and they can accommodate RVs up to 50 feet. There's also storage available. ALL spaces have 50 amp and have full hookups. There's showers, restrooms and the laundry with 14 machines in the clubhouse. There's a recreation center with pool table , puzzles and books. The pool is heated and there's a hot tub.
Carefree Manor RV Resort is just 1 mile from WalMart on Apache Trail. There you'll also find many restaurants and stores. This area is great for walking as it's flat and an easy walk. I did it many times myself.
Rates are reasonable as shown below.
Daily is $25.00
Weekly is $135.00
Monthly is $375.00
Yearly is $2,000.00
