Film crews invaded a downtown Manistee, Michigan coffee shop on Tuesday to shoot a scene for the upcoming Pureflix Entertainment movie Jerusalem Countdown. The film is based on a book by the same name, written by John Hagee. The movie version features a plot full of romance and a lot of action. The scenes shot this weeks featured actors Carey Scott and Jaci Velasquez.

Carey Scott has appeared in many films and television shows, including a 14-episode stint on "Walker, Texas Ranger" as Wes Tyson. He has also written and directed two feature films, Hidden Secrets (2006) and To the Wall(2009).

Jaci Velasquez has won much recognition as a singer, including two Latin Grammy nominations, three Grammy nominations, five Latin Billboard Award nominations, and Latin Billboard's Female Pop Album of the Year. Her acting debut came in 2003's popular film Chasing Papi.

The duo spent several hours on Tuesday afternoon shooting a conversation that takes place in a coffee shop. Rather than building a set, the crew used a real-life coffee shop, Goody's Juice and Java, for the filming. The scenes were shot as a follow-up to previous filming in Manistee for Jerusalem Countdown.

Besides Carey Scott and Jaci Velasquez, Jerusalem Coundown also stars country music star Randy Travis and David White.

Pureflix Entertainment, a Christian production company, has been working with Manistee's 10 West Studios to shoot the film. 10 West co-founder Harold Cronk explained that the scenes were originally to be shot in front of a house that had been used for scenes shot previously. However December brought snow to Northern Michigan, so the appearance of the house became a continuity issue. As a solution, the scene was adjusted to take place in a coffee shop instead.

While no official release date has been set for Jerusalem Countdown, it should hit stores on DVD sometime early in 2010.
