  • Here are some useful tips that'll keep your brass goods and ornaments in the perfect condition at all times of the year.
  • Brass cleaning agents are commonly available in the market . Use them once or twice a year according to the given instructions to clean them.
  • Polish with any ordinary furniture wax to keep it shiny and clean for longer.
  • to remove stubborn satins or verdigris from this alloy,simply wipe over with ammonia and after you've rinsed it well,dry thoroughly.
  • If you've any utilitarian equipment made of brass such as a mortar and pastel or fire tongs,clean by rubbing on with very fine steel wool.
  • If your brass is lacquered already,it doesn't need any further cleaning. Just wash them with any ordinary detergent and water 3-4 times a year.
  • With age,lacquered brass starts to its lacquer. In that case,you may need to strip it off completely and then re-lacquer it.
  • For a brilliant shine,dip a wedge of lemon in salt and rub over your brass goods. Rinse with warm water and dry.
  • You can use a paste of 2tbsps each of vinegar,salt and flour to clean your brass vases. Wipe with a soft cloth dipped in warm water and dry with kitchen paper.
  • If your goods are to small to be cleaned thoroughly,just place them in a solution of water,vinegar and salt and heat the solution until it starts to boil. Remove and use a tooth brush to rub all over. Then rinse with clean running water and dry with a soft cloth or kitchen paper.
