Carino's Italian Grill in Las Vegas, Nevada - Restaurant Review

Richard Banks
In the Las Vegas suburb of Centennial Hills, Carino's Italian Grill serves their guests with suburb food and exceptional service. But is the price right. Take a look at a major player in the food wars.

First Impressions

At first glance, Carino's Italian Grill resembles a classic Italian bistro. The smell of baked goods from the wood fire oven permeates throughout the restaurant. The décor also conjures up images of the streets of Italy. There are scenes of traditional eateries through Europe and the Americas. The atmosphere was light and cozy. There was enough seating for an intimate dinner or a meal for a family of more than six.

Wait Staff and Menu

Dressed in traditional Italian attire, the wait staff at Carino's Italian was professional and courteous. They took care of the needs with grace and genuine hospitality. From the moment a guest enters Carino's Italian, until they are ready to depart, the service is exceptional.

Throw out traditional views of an Italian restaurant. Carino's Italian offers more than just pasta and pizza. The menu consists of Fresh made salads, beef and chicken creations, and seafood specialties. Carino's Italian also offers classic Italian meals, pizza, signature Italian drinks, as well as family platters.

Check

The worst part of the experience was the check. The total was over $120. This price did not include the tip, which required an additional 18%. So for a family of six, our total was close to $150. I would expect this total if the dining experience took place at one of the numerous luxury hotels and casinos. For meal at a suburb of the city, the quality did not match the price.

Pros

Gluten-free selections

Allergen friendly

Great atmosphere

Friendly service

Great Location

Cons

Pricey

My Take and Thoughts

Eating out shouldn't require a second mortgage. The dining experience was above expectations, but the affordability was below. For a family of six, a meal shouldn't cost over $120. This total was before a tip was included. The service was worthy of a good tip, but not the quality of the food. With eyes closed, the food was in line with every other Italian restaurant. In a tough economic climate, Carino's Italian Grille Las Vegas, NV must reconsider pricing to remain a player in the food wars.

I haven't been to this chain recently. The roasted garlic is incredible.
