Carl Edwards is one of the most famous NASCAR drivers, ever. His love for cars started off young, basically since he was born! He was born August 15,1979 in Columbia, MO. His father introduced him to racing cars, being that he races stock cars and USAC midgets, obtaining over 200 major wins in four decades.

Carl Edwards Jr. began his racing career at a mere 13 years old. The year was 1993, and he was racing four-cylinder mini-sprints. In 1994 he won four feature-races in the Missouri and Illinois mini-sprint series. In 1997, he switched to dirt-circuit, and in 1998 he won Rookie-Of-The-Year honors in the IMCA modified division.

In the year 2000, Carl decided to take on NASCAR. He won 13 feature races, Rookie-Of-The-Year, and took the Capital Speedway Track Championship of the Speed Weekly Series. That year, he also competed in the Sportsman division races in California, Missouri, and Capital Speedway. He won all three of those races.

In 2003, Carl had an AMAZING rookie season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as part of Roush Fenway Racing. He drove Superchip's Ford F-150. He obtained three wins, one pole, 13 top-five finishes, 15 top-ten finishes, and Reybesto's Rookie-Of-the-Year award. He finished the season in 8th place total.

In 2005, he won the season opener of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck season in Daytona. In 2005, he raced in both the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and the Busch Series full time. He again won Rookie-Of-The-Year, but in the Busch Series. He finished third in the overall post standings. He set many records this year, including becoming the only driver in history to win both the Busch race and a cup in the same year.

Last year, Carl held a consecutive spot on the top of the leader board for 33 weeks. He claimed 4 wins, 15 top-five finishes, and 21 top-ten finishes. He won the Busch Series Drivers Championship in 2007! He made the "Chase" two times in three years. He raced for the Office Depot team, and got three wins, eleven top-five wins, and fifteen top-ten finishes. He also claimed a pole which placed him in the 2008 Shootout at Daytona. He is now racing in the Sprint Cup and the Nationwide Series full-time.

When he isn't driving, Edwards enjoys spending time with family and friends in his hometown of Columbia, MO. He loves working out, riding motorcycles, and surprisingly... reading! He has two charities he works with: Dream Factory and Victory Junction Gang Camp. He is a married man, and loves spending time with his children!
