Carli Lloyd Brings the U.S. Women's Soccer Team to Win a Gold Medal

I have never been more excited about this year's Olympics and even more so now that Carli Lloyd help to set the United States women's soccer team a part from all the other women soccer teams. Carli Lloyd made the winning goal in the 98th minute game that helped them win 1-0 against Brazil and in the end it helped them to win the gold medal match in Beijing, according to MSNBC.

There are a ton of events that I have found interesting in the Olympics but another person that I am proud of like Carli Lloyd is Shawn Johnson who won the gold medal for the balance beam. These two girls are what sets the United States a part from the rest of them.

Like Carli Lloyd, Shawn Johnson won late but at least she won a gold medal. Carli Lloyd had scored late in the game to put the United States in front of everyone else and Shawn Johnson made her first gold medal in the very last competition of the gymnastics part of the Olympics. Both of these women will go on to do something great since they will both be remembered as the two that helped the United States to get the gold medal when it counted most.

Carli Lloyd's biggest competitor against the United States for woman soccer was Brazil and which they won the victory over.

I can hardly compare Carli Lloyd and Shawn Johnson since they are many years a part and Shawn Johnson is still known as a girl but I can say that they both put their best foot forward.

It seemed that Shawn Johnson's biggest competitor for the balance beam was her team-mate Nastia Liukin who gave her a run for the best. Nastia Liukin was coached by her father and former Olympic gold medalist Valeri Liukin. It seemed that the entire competition Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson were at each others feet as they competed together and then against each other. It was something that both girls will remember for the rest of their lives as they part ways and go back to the life that they live.

Even though Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson are from two worlds apart they will still be the ones who will be remembered as the ones who took the gold for the all-around competition and the balance beam.

Carli Lloyd will no doubt be remembered as the one who made the United States women soccer go home with a victory under their belt.

Kudos to all the Olympic athletes who have sacrificed much of their personal lives to be able to excel in a sport, and proudly representing our country.
