There are four teams involved in this swap deal. It will include the Jazz, Bobcats, Nets, and Nuggets. This is a major basketball event.
Is Carmelo Anthony Ready for a New Adventure?
Carmelo has been avoiding the three-year contract renewal the Nuggets wanted him to sign. They have offered him a 3-year, $65-million deal, reports ESPN.
But it looks like he is ready for a change. He's only 26 and already Carmelo is a three-time basketball All-Star. Carmelo has star power and gets a lot of media attention. If he moves to the Nets it will create a lot of buzz for the team.
Will there be a major news announcement involving Carmelo tomorrow? It sounds like the teams are trying a swap to give the Nets Carmelo Anthony and for the Nets to trade off Devin Harris and Derrick Favors.
Nets to Move to Brooklyn
The Nets are expected to move to Brooklyn in a few years. This will up the rivalry between the Nets and the Knicks as they battle it out for publicity and for the best players for their teams.
Carmelo Anthony and his new wife, Lala Vasquez, got married in New York City. Was this a hint they might be starting a new life there soon? Who knows? However, Lala, told the Denver Post this summer that as far as she knew at that time they were staying in Denver.
Are Carmelo & Lala Singing "New York, New York?"
Will Carmelo and Lala be singing the Frank Sinatra song about NYC "New York, New York?" Maybe they are blasting it at their home in Denver right now. The song starts out with:
"Start spreading the news
I am leaving today
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York."
But for now, if this deal goes through, New Jersey will have Carmelo Anthony fever. The Nets could use a little excitement and he'll bring it to them. He's a powerful basketball player with an explosive type of energy.
