Carmelo Anthony Wants to Be Traded

What is Melo's Next Stop?

The huge trade in Miami this July left the other teams wanting to create their own powerhouse, or just encouraged lonely superstars to request a trade. The Denver Nuggets have been a 50+ win team these past 3 years, but they seem kind of weak compared to the star filled rosters in the East. Melo wants out of Denver. You can't really blame him. You can't blame the Nuggets franchise for wanting to trade him as well. Anthony will be a free agent next year which means that if he isn't traded now, Denver won't get a penny for him, might as well start the rebuilding process now.

There are many possible trades but Carmelo isn't necessarily interested. He could team up with Amare Stoudemire in New York, or with Devin Harris and Brook Lopez in New Jersey. In both cases he would be getting a lot of money and would be playing with some superstars. Instead, he recently said that he wouldn't mind going to the Clippers or Rockets because it wouldn't disturb his wife's acting career.

The Houston Rockets wouldn't be a bad idea for Melo. With Yao Ming back in the lineup, he would play with a true center which would take some pressure of of his shoulders. He would also fill in the gap that Trevor Ariza left in his departure to New Orleans. Along with Luis Scola, Houston would have a big lineup which would be capable of matching or at least competing with the Lakers big men.

The Los Angeles Clippers have never really came out as one of the best franchises in the league. Last year their number 1 draft pick Blake Griffin was injured and never had the chance to show his talent. Alongside Baron Davis, Chris Kaman and rising star Eric Gordon, Carmelo may be able to pull off a playoff run.

Personally, I want to see Carmelo stay in the West. The Heat, Celtics and Magic are piling up the superstars and making it way too easy for the Lakers on the other side. The Rockets seem like the best option for Carmelo, but you can always dream with the free agency. Imagine a Chris Paul-Carmelo Anthony-Amare Stoudemire trio in New York, or even Melo replacing LeBron James in Cleveland.
