Carmen Bryan's Memoir: It's No Secret: From Nas to Jay-Z, from Seduction to Scandal - a Hip-Hop Helen of Troy Tells All
In fact, Carmen Bryan appeared in Technorati's top ten most popular search terms since her memoir dishing about Nas and Jay-Z and Allen Iverson hit the market today. No doubt "Carmen Bryan book excerpts" and "It's No Secret book excerpts" can't be far behind from making Yahoo's buzz list.
And with Carmen's seeming forthrightness in the small snippets I've found, the comparison to Karrine Steffans' Confessions of a Video Vixen is inevitable. I had to wait forever in the system of my local library to read Steffans' book. I just checked my local library's network for Carmen Bryan's book and of course they don't have it. The Cleveland, Ohio, library has a couple but they're on order. Oh well, maybe I'll actually break down and buy It's No Secret...for journalistic purposes, of course...

Post a CommentWow-it's sad and yet funny to read people make such comments as "my kids have no famous rolemodels". If your such a respectable mother, you be your kids rolemodel. Dont leave it to Tyra or any other famous person to guide your children. Sasha, your a pathetic human being. If no one liked this book, dont read it or encourage others to do so but have a little respect for the authors courage to speak out. It seems so many of you are name calling but I can almost bet none of you know her personally. Grow up people!!!

I trully LOVED the book!!!! Carmen is a beautiful and brave woman who was able to live and make it through all her struggles!!! I love Carmen and she is THE BEST!!!

I bought your book this past Monday & finished it last night [Thursday]. I loved the book simply because I could relate in so many ways. From the baby daddy drama & still dealing with him on "occasions", having multiple partners & learning from that experience to dealing with trying to create something out of my life while also balancing single mother hood. As I was jumping from chapter to chapter it was an exhausting emotional roller coaster as I recalled so many events in my past that made me realize how strong & resilient I really am. Most importantly I learned so many of life's lessons and am still learning. + I briefly grew up in St. Albans too & attended Andrew Jackson H.S.
