Carmex Lip Balm Product Review

Bandit
Carmex is a topical lip balm which is formulated to help reduce cold sores and relieve dry and or chapped lips. It is available in jars, sticks, and squeezable tubes. Carmex has been around since 1937 and over one billion jars have been sold since then and still has the original formula that gives your lips that little tingle to let you know it is there. Carmex Lip Balm is available in .25 and .5 oz. sizes.

Let's face it. Most of us suffer from dry, cracked lips and with winter upon us now, those bitter cold North winds are blowing. During the summer, our lips dry out faster because of the humidity and the dust floating around in the air. My lips stay dry and feel rough so I use Carmex everyday, but I also wear lipstick so what I do is apply some Carmex to my lips before and after I apply lipstick. This helps to lock in and restore moisture to my lips, applies the lipstick on to my lips much smoother, and keeps my lips looking and feeling soft, sexy and smooth. As soon as I apply a thin layer of Carmex to my lips, I can feel that gentle tiny tingling sensation in my lips and this lets me know that it's working. The camphor and menthol that is in Carmex is what gives it that invigorating cooling effect that you feel on your lips.

Not only do I use Carmex on my lips, but Carmex makes a great antiseptic ointment when I burn my finger or my hand on a hot pan. I also use Carmex on mosquito bites and ant bites. The sting from insect bites disappears after I apply a thin layer of Carmex to them.

The base ointment ingredients in Carmex which help to seal in moisture are: petroleum, cocoa butter, beeswax, petrolatum, lanolin, paraffin as well as other wax additives.

The key ingredients in Carmex which help to alleviate the symptoms which are associated with a cold sore are: phenol which is an antiseptic, salicylic acid to relive itching and dries the runniness and menthol which soothes and relieves the irritated, dry feeling on your lips. Carmex is never tested on any animals every Carmex product is put through thorough chemical analysis and consistent testing before any products leave the facility. There are several ingredients in Carmex such as Cocoa butter and lanolin which are both natural moisturizers along with other unique emollient which give the lips lots of moisture that was lost by being outdoors and exposed to the elements and also helps to keep the lips from chapping and drying.

Who knew that so much relief could be on the inside of such a tiny jar? If you suffer from dry, cracked lips, give Carmex a try. Carmex would definitely be one thing I would have with me if I was ever stranded on a deserted island.

I give Carmex Lip Balm 5 out 5 stars.
