You are BOTH right. I love playing with words and think the word "carmine" is ripe with Valentine's meaning! I appreciate your both picking up on it!
Carmine is also a red colored dye, so this has a clever (intended or not) double meaning.
Carmine comes from the Latin word carminis, which means "of song". "A heart of song", lovely.
