As you start the game, you will need to choose your gaming mode; there are two modes of game play to choose from. You can choose prize mode which is for single players. In this mode you can win tickets, prizes and other trinket items that are not available in other game modes. If you want to play with other people, you can choose the competition mode which allows for up to four players. In competition mode, you can go head to head in your favorite game, or compete with each other in randomly selected games. When you complete each round there is a leader board feature to keep track of your scores.
After choosing the game mode you want to play, your next step is to create your character. You can customize your characters face, hair, clothes and shoes. There are also crazy accessories that you can win or purchase for your character. By the time I was done playing the game, my character was wearing a hard hat, bird beak mask, and elephant feet shoes!
Now that you're all set up, let the games begin! The game menu has six alleys to select carnival games to play; Fortune Way, Love Lane, Rodent Row, Claw Alley, Lucky Pass, and Prize Boulevard. Prize Boulevard has an arcade game, but is more for where you can go to see the collection of prizes you've won.
Each alley has an arcade game that you can play with the tickets you win, and win more tickets. As you play the games you will win tickets and prizes based on how well you play the game; the better you do the higher the prize. There are four levels of prizes you can win, and just like the real carnival games you upgrade your prize to a larger prize. When you get the jumbo prize in an area, you can unlock special bonus super games!
Some of games that are included with carnival games are:
Alley Ball - This game is also known as Skeet Ball where you have to roll the ball up the alley and try to get it in the cups to win points.
Test your Strength - This is the game where you have to hit the hammer on the target and ring the bell at the top of the tower.
Hoops - That's right! It's the game where you try to make as many baskets as you can with the basketball.
Balloon Darts - Throw the darts at the balloons to pop them. The smaller ones are worth more points.
Spilled Milk - Knock down all three milk bottles with one ball.
Shooting Gallery - Shoot at the duck targets. Get as many as you can with 25 shots.
Buckets of Fun - You have to get the softball in the bushel basket.
Clown Splash - Spray water in the clown's mouth and be the first one to fill the balloon.
Ring Toss - Toss the little ring around the bottle.
And many more to try your skills and luck at!
Some of games are quite fun and kids would really have fun playing it, but after awhile it does start to get a little boring. The downside is that some of the games are difficult to play because it's tricky to control with the Wii controller; it doesn't allow you to be as precise as you would like to be. Overall, I think this is going to be one of those games that just sit around and doesn't get played too much. Your best bet is it to rent the game first and checkout before you decide to purchase it.
