Now in the Brazilian Amazon, Acre is probably the fastest growing State in Brazil. Investors better keep an eye on it! They are in the far west of Brazil, in the meddle of the rain forest, and used to be really very far away from the cost. That is history now, they have built a very nice highway together with Peru and Bolivia and now have close access to the Pacific Ocean.
I have been in contact with Secretary of State Cesar Dotto and he just sent me news of a fantastic Carnival in Acre. Acre combined tradition and modernity with success. They called it Carnival in the Digital Forest and it was a great success.
Acre´s tourism industry is also fast growing new hotels been built, investments in infrastructure - Acre is a connected State. They went as far as producing a website were you may see many pictures and videos of the party.
According to the organizers Rio Branco's* Carnival is safe and of high-level, with the strong presence of families. On average 40 thousand people attended it every night. But why Digital, you may properly ask? The name is a straight reference to the State government effort to digitally integrate Acre - the name of that project is Digital Forest.
Next time you decide to visit the Amazon rain forest, do business and enjoy a happy family oriented Carnival all at the same time go to Acre. Besides all that you will be able to do you will surely be connected.
*Rio Branco is the capital of the Syate of Acre in Brazil.
