One goes to Rio de Janeiro and see a glamorous expencive Carnival mainly done for the tourists. In Sao Paulo he or she will enjoy a Carnival done for the citizen of Sao Paulo. It is nice, similar to Rio in its format, different in its public, check the following video later to see what i mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk__3kupUjU
If you go visit Brazil check Carnival in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Recife. Why stay only in Rio? Friday and Saturday night major Samba Schools from Sao Paulo parade. Then On Sunday and Monday it is time for Rio de Janeiro major Schools to do the same. So it is possible to get the best of both. Later on Tuesday and Wednesday it is time to go to Salvador and Recife and enjoy two other types of Carnival.
Now in the Brazilian Amazon, Acre is probably the fastest growing State of Brazil. Investors better keep an eye on it! Acre is in the far west of Brazil, in the meddle of the rain forest. It used to be really very far away from the cost. That is history now, Brazil has built a very nice highway together with Peru and Bolivia and now Acre have close access to the Pacific Ocean. It is now much closer to California. I have been in contact with Secretary of State Cesar Dotto and he just sent me news of the fantastic Carnival they had in Acre. The party combined tradition and modernity with success. They called it " Digital Forest Carnival" and it was a great success.
Tourism industry is also fast growing in Acre. New hotels been built, investments in infrastructure... Acre today is a connected State. They went as far as producing a website were you may see many pictures and videos of the party. According to the organizers Rio Branco's* Carnival is safe, of high-level and family oriented. On average 40 thousand people attended it every night.
One may ask: why Digital? The name is a straight reference to the State government effort to digitally integrate Acre - the name of that project is Digital Forest. Well I just showed you some options. Next time you decide to visit the Amazon rain forest, do business and enjoy a happy and safe Carnival all at the same time go to Acre. Besides all that you will be able to do, you will surely be very well connected.
*Rio Branco is the capital of the Syate of Acre in Brazil.
