Carol's Daughter Some of Marguerite's Magic Hair Cream: A Review

The Pen
A month or so ago I was online at www.carolsdaughter.com when I saw a message that said that their best-selling Some of Marguerite's Magic hair cream was back in stock after being sold-out. Even though I usually use Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter to moisturize my tresses I'd always wanted to try the Marguerite's Magic so I made a mental note to purchase it from Macy's so I could avoid paying the shipping & handling fees.

And a couple of days later I purchased an 8oz jar of Carol's Daughter Some of Marguerite's Magic for $16.

Some of Marguerite's Magic looks very similar to the Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter, they both come in an identical jar & both creams are white. The only difference is that the Healthy Hair Butter is very thick & rich, while Some of Marguerite's Magic is lighter & a bit more watery, and it has a more feminine powdery scent.

This Carol's Daughter product contains water, corn, soybean, & sweet almond oil. It also contains shea butter, cocoa seed butter, beeswax, stearic acid, fragrance, wheat germ oil, triethanolamine, phenoxyethanol, capryl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, hexylene glycol, disodium, EDTA, Butylene Glycool, & 0-Cymen-50L.

The label claims that Some of Marguerite's Magic is a rich, creamy hair dress that is used for shine & manageability of over-processed hair.

Although my strands aren't over-processed, I have a naturally thick and dry texture that can be hard to manage, but since the Marguerite's Magic was so light I wasn't sure that it would adequately hydrate my hair.

But I was very surprised when I used it after a shampooing and conditioning. The hair dress absorbed into my strands quickly and made them feel moisturized and really soft. My hair really drank this stuff up and my curls became more defined, and they stayed hydrated for days.

I also used the Carol's Daughter Marguerite's Magic on my dry locks. I found that my strands also absorbed it easily then, and my hair felt hydrated & slightly shinier than before, and my curls weren't weighed down at all.

I use Some of Marguerite's Magic very often now mostly for loose hairstyles or buns. I notice that my hair stays moisturized and it doesn't frizz out as much anymore, and it's much easier to comb and manage when it's time for me to wash & detangle.

I love this Carol's Daughter cream but I don't really use it for braids or twists that often because it doesn't give a lot of hold like the Healthy Hair Butter does.

In the End...

I found that I genuinely like both the Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter, and Some of Marguerite's Magic. I will probably continue to buy and use both, although I think the average person could just use either one.

If your hair is very thick, dry and brittle, or you need a hair moisturizer with a lot of hold, than the Healthy Hair Butter would be best suited for you.

And if your hair is a finer texture, or you just want a fast absorbing, hydrating and light hair cream then Some of Marguerite's Magic would probably work best for you.

I love Some of Marguerite's Magic, it has really improved the manageability and the look of my thick hair I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
