Carowinds has some of the most exciting thrill rides found on the East Coast and perhaps the most famous ride of them all is the "Borg Assimilator", which is the world's first roller coaster with a Star Trek theme. If you are die-hard Star Trek fan, then you simply do not want to let this roller coaster pass you by.
In addition the park has another famous coaster called the "Steel Cyclone" which offers some of the most breathtaking loops to be found on any coaster in the United States. If traditional wooden coasters are your cup of tea, take a spin on the Hurler, an appropriately named coaster that hurls you along at a breathtaking speed of over 50 miles per hour! Or better yet, if stand up roller coasters are your preference, try the fun and exciting Vortex or the racing roller coaster Thunder Road" which actually spans both North and South Carolina. Some other fun rides at the theme park include the "Xtreme Skyflier" and the "Spinning Scream Weaver."
In addition to the many roller coaster and kids rides, the park also has a plethora of water rides like the "Carolina Goldrusher" which is a mine-car style coaster that is not quite as wild as some of the aforementioned coasters. If you're looking to try a plunging water ride that is guaranteed to get you wet, take a ride on the "White Water Falls."
Carowinds has a number of restaurants throughout the park, which offer everything from a simple snack down to a sit down meal. The food has been noted to be a little overpriced and like similar parks of this kind, is not of the highest quality. With that being said, you also have the option to leave the park to gain a decent meal at one of the restaurants that are located just outside the park entrance since they offer same day entry and the parking price is for the whole day. Just make sure that you have your hand stamped before you decide to leave the park.
In addition to the many rides and shops offered at Carowinds, you will also find many different concerts and live events for your Family's viewing pleasure not to mention the live aquatic shows which feature live seals and dolphins.
If your family is planning a visit to North Carolina and you're looking for a great place to visit, give Carowinds a try. You will definitely be glad that you did and your Family will love you for it for many years to come.
