Carpal Tunnel Problems and Cures

People who use keyboards daily or grocery store clerks, assembly line workers, bankers or even cashiers can cause trauma to their hands by using them every day repetitive. And if you have any spinal problems already or joint pain it possibly can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome.

There are some symptoms some will get that will show up if one has carpal tunnel syndrome. Anywhere from tingling, numbness, weakness, any pain or if you can tell that you have loss a tremendous amount of strength in your hands.

You may want to elect to go to a chiropractic doctor for your pain. They can perform many test to help eliminate some of your pain without you having to have any surgery. They can do some adjustments on your hand and ease the pain.

You should try small exercises to see if you may have carpal tunnel syndrome. You can place your index finger against your thumb finger and hold tightly and see if someone can pull apart your fingers. If you find that your fingers are weak and easily pulled apart you may have a carpal tunnel problem. But it is best if you go to a doctor and get a diagnosis.

The carpal tunnel is formed by bones in your wrist. The median nerves, tendons, and blood vessels pass through this opening. If any of your bones along the path of this tunnel should ever collapse, then you'll get nerve pressure and then maybe even pain will start to bother you.

There are ways to notice if you start to have a problem with carpal tunnel that might alert you early on. If you find your hands start to itch on the inner palm or your fingers start to feel tingly or swollen. These are some of the signs you might see early on.

The first thing you'll want to do if you do have carpal tunnel syndrome is to rest your hands. For weeks I would rest my hand or hands and use cold packs. There are splints that you can buy to use as well. You may also find out from your doctor which step would be best for you to take.

Some carpal tunnel is already done so much damage that it is necessary to use drugs or possibly even surgery. But there are things a person can do that can help prevent having to use the drugs or surgery and carpal tunnel itself.

You will want to try exercising your hands and warming them up. Stretching helps and wearing fingerless gloves help to keep your hands warm. If you continue to have problems talk with your employer about changing some of the work over to another or taking small breaks to rest your hands.
