I've become sarcastic in my older days

Where before I sweetly acquiesced to foolish words

And idiot men

Now I chop them off, Chop them off I say

Right at the knees before they enter the door

And then I chop them some more

I'm hewing and hacking and filing away

This is evocative of Roald Dahl and Angela Carter... Such a strong sense of self and taking charge... Lapped it up! :)

I really like the energy of this poem. Is it mixed with a bit of sarcasm?

Inspiring! Reminds me of a joke I heard when I was young: Q: How many men does it take to tile a floor? A: It depends on how thin you slice them! (Sorry, had to get that out - it fit for me!)

Good one. My only suggestion would be to change the word "sarcastic" to "wiser". Ha!
