The year 1860 saw the invention of the earliest hand held carpet cleaner which was designed and underwent testing in Chicago. Cecil Booth on the other hand invented the first vacuum cleaner to be operated by power in the 1900s.
It is at the time when Cecil Booth wound up his invention that James Spangler invented a vacuum cleaner which he later on sold to William Hoover, his cousin in law. Since then, Hoover has become the most famous household name, in addition to the name dominating the entire world of vacuum cleaning.
A lot of housewives deemed the invention of vacuum cleaners as a real blessing because for just fraction of the time they used, the machines would keep the homes spotless clean. Initially, vacuum cleaners could only suck up simple dirt and dust found on the carpet, but owing to advancement in technology, today vacuum cleaner inventors are designing
Wet cleaners that multitask such that in addition to sucking up dirt and dust, they steam the carpets, killing germs in the process.
Basically, the carpet covers the entire flooring of a home while keeping occupant's feet warm during winter. Before, people would only sweep the floor or the carpet, but thanks to the invention of the cleaning machines, people can now easily clean their floors and carpets and what is more, exerting less effort and saving a lot of time in the process.
The operation of a vacuum cleaner is very simple in that the machines have a pump system that sucks up air from a hose, and the air in turn sucks up dirt for your target area. Internally, the machine acts as a filtering structure by collecting all dirt and dust which will later be disposed off in the garbage.
There are mainly seven types of vacuum cleaners, which are available in different sizes, styles and shapes and also offer a varied power size and voltage. These are back pack style, hand held, robotic, wet/dry vacuum, upright canister and the built in cleaners.
The most noticeable and significant development in vacuuming was the invention of the cyclone carpet cleaner. This machine collects dirt and dust in an enlarged cylinder unlike the previous machines. The machine has a central air force, coupled with a number of filters that filter the dirt and dust in various stages. This allows the cyclone cleaner to release back the air being sucked up into the cylinder, using a central outlet, after cleaning it.
