Carpets of Dalton: Review of My Tile Order and Suggestions for Your Purchase

Confusion and Delays, but Simple Suggestions May Help

Layla Lair
Carpets of Dalton is well known for its large selection of all types of flooring. On arrival there I was greeted by attentive sales people that were eager to help in any way when choosing my floor tile. However, once my tile was ordered I was left to face several delays and excuses by this Dalton, Georgia, company. Customer service at Carpets of Dalton had become flawed after my purchase. Nevertheless, there are simple suggestions that may ease some of the confusion and delays for others.

Review of my purchase:
Even though the tile I chose was featured in the Carpets of Dalton Kitchen and Bath Showroom, it was not stocked at the store. I placed an order and was given an arrival date of just four days away. Regrettably, my purchase did not make the truck. Pickup for my order was moved to the next week.

On the new due date, a review of my order found it did arrive...sort of. The supplier had sent the tile but part of the order was wrong. We were told this had already been reordered and should be delivered by the end of the week.

Calls on Friday though were fruitless. I talked to a representative of Carpets of Dalton who said the reordered tile was still in transit on a truck.

Monday I was told for a second time that they had received the wrong tile and delivery was not expected until Friday of that week. Thankfully, another representative gave my purchase a deeper review. This revealed that my order was not on a slow moving truck from Florida, but in transit with UPS. This review suggested that my tile purchase would arrive the next morning.

It had begun to seem that everyone at Carpets of Dalton was on a different page. Nevertheless, the tile did arrive and it was beautiful and worth the wait! Looking back at my experience, there are several suggestions that may help end some of this confusion and aggravation for others.

Simple Suggestions that may end some confusion and delays:
If I learned anything from my experience with Carpets of Dalton, it is to be prepared to wait longer than expected when ordering tile. In addition, request a review of any order several times before they have any money. Furthermore, I recommend talking only to the original salesperson when calling to check on a purchase. I found our salesperson to be the most knowledgeable concerning my purchase and its status. Talking to only one person at Carpets of Dalton may also keep misleading facts from being offered.
