Carrie the Caregiver Game Review

Marsha J
Carrie the Caregiver is a computer game in which you take care of newborn babies. Children come into the nursery and you put them on a table and after a few seconds they begin to make their demands. First you have to get a bottle from the refrigerator and put it in a bottle warmer. The bottle changes to pink when it is warm and you can take it and give it to a baby.

The children then want you to take the bottle when they are finished and when you take the bottle you are also burping them. Once you throw away the used bottle it is time to change their diaper. You take a new diaper over to a baby and change them. Carrie then picks up the dirty diaper and throws it away.

Throughout the game, a nurse who is also your guide will stick a hand throw a door on the left and hand you different items. It could be food, drinks and snacks to give you energy, a bar of soap or gloves to keep your hands clean or a pair of skates that will allow you to move faster.

Babies will come into the nursery with different icons on their basket. A smiley face means that the baby can wait in line longer and they will also take up tables longer so you have to strategize accordingly to make up for the lost time. A baby with a sad face will become upset more quickly than the other children and they will leave taking 500 points with them. If you notice a bottle with a plus sign on it, you have to be careful with this child. Take a look at bottom right of your screen and if you need to wash your hands, quickly move Carrie over to the sink and do so. If you attempt to go near this child, they will get sick and you have to go get them medicine. This can throw off your bonus points and the child will take up your table much longer.

On the right side of the screen, parents will periodically stop by to view their newborn and when they do, they will leave a heart. If a child has a low happiness meter you can take the heart and give it to that unhappy child.

Carrie the Caregiver isn't one of the best games on the market but it is fun to play for a while. The graphics are not great but when Carrie gets skates to move faster, she really does zoom after quickly. Carrie the Caregiver features the same ideas as Diner Dash but it is a nice change away from restaurants and cooking.
