Carrie Prejean (Miss California) FIRED!

A Surprise Dethronement

Miss California's Carrie Prejean recently sparked controversy with her anti-homosexual answer at the Miss USA pageant. Later, after starring in an anti-gay marriage commercial, semi-nude photos of the home grown beauty queen emerged. Now she's officially been fired from the role of "Miss California" and has to hand over her bedazzled crown.

However, it wasn't the foot-in-mouth response given at the USA pageant, nor was it the one-sided anti-gay marriage commercial or racy photographs that did her in.

According to a recent statement given to Access Hollywood by the Miss California Organization, "The Miss California USA Organization, in conjunction with the Miss Universe Organization and with the blessing of its owner, Mr. Donald J. Trump, announced today the termination of Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA 2009, citing continued breach of contract issues."

The pageant's Executive Director Keith Lewis insists that her dethronement is strictly based on her non-compliance issues, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization.

This announcement comes after a press conference held last month where Trump declared that Prejean would keep her crown despite the flourishing controversy surrounding her. Since that time, Prejean has failed to fulfill her Miss California obligations and now the crown is being stripped away from her.

"I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," said Trump in a recent statement. "Unfortunately it just doesn't look like it is going to happen and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision. Carrie is a beautiful young woman and I wish her well as she pursues other interests."

The news came as a shock to Prejean during a Wednesday afternoon interview on Access Hollywood's, "The Billy Bush Show." After reading the statement to Prejean claiming that she had been fired, the former Miss California responded, "Well, that's the first that I know about that, Billy."

She later said, "I started to laugh because everyone's been cooperating and everyone's been getting along so well. This is the first that I've heard of it. This is funny to me. I have no idea what's going on."

The gay community is thrilled, including celebrity gossip superstar Mr. Perez Hilton, who asked Prejean the very gay marriage question that sparked all the controversy at the USA pageant several months earlier.

One PerezHilton.com commenter, MarieRi, said, "She can get a job on Fox and Friends and pandor to the idiot conservative crowd. In time she'll become such a joke she'll have to insulate herself with nothing but people who agree with her and think like her."

Some argue that Carrie was trying to get out of her contract because she felt as if she did not have a voice of her own under the contractual obligations. Fiery emails that Prejean sent to Miss USA officials confirm that theory.

For example, on May 29, 2009 she wrote, "You do not cooperate with me, and you pick and chose [sic] the [sic] things YOU want me to do. That is not happening anymore. Stop speaking for me. I have MY own voice."

A Prejean supporter on the TMZ website stated, "Good for Carrie for having enough sense to realize the pissed off pageant officials were going to bend over backwards to give her the most inappropiate, absurd "appearences" they could possibly come up with. She's a star and doesn't need to play their petty little liberal games. Carrie comes out the winner yet again."

First Runner-Up in the Miss California pageant, Miss Malibu Tami Farrell is now Miss California.

I also agree with Linda. She had a contract. If she didn't want to do the job, she could have resigned. Not showing up because you don't feel like it is wrong, and firing her was the right move.

I agree with Linda. Winning a pageant means you do the bidding of the pageant committee or owners. Ms Prejean knew all about pageants and how they work. It's a job. I speak from experience.

I like this write up. I don't quite understand why the woman was in the pageant to begin with if she has such a high moral code but beyond that... she knew what she signed up for... breaching a contract is never a good thing.

The one thing that I think everyone forgets here is that Carrie Prejean spoke on behalf of the MAJORITY opinion, therefore belittling the minority who is trying desperately to make themselves heard.

Our country is turning into a puppet factory where only one view point will be tolerated... never a good thing.

I do NOT agree with CJ. They asked her a question to set her up for this. She has a right to to her views, and to give them when asked.

I'm glad too, someone that ignorant should not be representing any state in America.

I am glad that she has been fired. If you are going to represent a state or the country you need to learn how to present your thoughts and ideas and not your prejudice to the public.
