The Carrie Prejean Sextape Controversy Has Kept the Former Miss California in the News for Days

For several days now, "Carrie Prejean sextape stream" has been Google Trends' top trending topic. And, as a result, the Carrie Prejean sextape controversy has prompted a number of questions and concerns: Can the Carrie Prejean sextape stream be found on the Web? Was she really just 17 when she made the tape (which allegedly features the former Miss California pleasuring herself) or is the fiery former beauty queen telling a fib? Has Carrie Prejean made multiple sextapes?

But perhaps the most interesting - and relevant - question to pose is this: Is Carrie Prejean really upset over all the attention her solo sextape video is generating? Or is she absolutely loving all the free publicity she and her new book are getting? Will all this publicity not help Carrie Prejean sell more books?

If you look at the history of celebrity sextapes, you will find that in the vast majority of cases, the existence of racy videos featuring celebrities (that go viral on the Web) end up being a tremendous career enhancer - and, in some cases, a money maker as well. This has been true for Pamela Anderson (who starred in what his perhaps the most famous celebrity sextape of all time), Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and others.

Not even the world's best PR firm could have garnered Carrie Prejean more publicity and media scrutiny than what she has gotten for free. And, because of this truism, I'm sure that some conspiracy theorists probably believe that Carrie Prejean herself orchestrated the Carrie Prejean sextape controversy - they would argue that it's all just one big publicity stunt. Let's not forget that the conspiracy crowd also accused Erin Andrews of being behind her wildly controversial peephole video and believed that starlets Ashley Greene and Vanessa Hudgens had a hand in promoting their respective nude photo scandals.

It would also be fair to ask whether Carrie Prejean was just feigning righteous indignation when she accused Larry King of being "inappropriate" after King asked her why she settled her lawsuit with Miss California USA during her appearance on "Larry King Live Wednesday night.

All of this makes one wonder what really motivates Carrie Prejean. Is it her professed religious convictions? An unbridled passion for self-aggrandizement and money? What makes this beautiful 22-year-old woman tick?

I can tell you one thing. If Carrie Prejean and Larry King want to make a boatload of money, they ought to get together and star in their very own makeup sex video.

If they could prevent it from leaking onto the Net and, instead, charge money to view it, it would replace the Pamela Anderson-Tommy Lee video as the Mother of all celebrity sextapes.

I'm just sayin'.
