Carrie Underwood CMA Performance 2009: Carrie Underwood's CMA Performance 2009 Can't Be Beat
Carrie Underwood's CMA Performance 2009 was Amazing
Carrie Underwood, the former American Idol, looked as beautiful as ever. Her blonde hair was in loose ringlets, and her makeup was flawlessly applied. She was wearing a form-fitting zip-front jacket with a short flowing skirt. She also wore knee high black nylons and she just looked simply amazing.
Carrie Underwood sang "Play On" for the crowd, in the strong and beautiful voice we have grown to know and love. Her performance was simply amazing.
The 2009 CMA Awards was a great night. In case you don't know the night's winners they were:
Entertainer of the Year: Taylor Swift
Male Vocalist of the Year: Brad Paisley
Single of the Year: "I Run to You," Lady Antebellum
Album of the Year: Fearless, Taylor Swift
Female Vocalist of the Year: Taylor Swift
Song of the Year: "In Color," Jamey Johnson (w/ cowriters Lee Thomas Miller and James Otto)
Music Video of the Year: "Love Story," Taylor Swift
Best New Artist of the Year: Darius Rucker
Musician of the Year: Mac McAnally
Event of the Year: "Start a Band," Brad Paisley and Keith Urban
Vocal Group of the Year: Lady Antebellum
Vocal Duo of the Year: Sugarland
As you can see, Taylor Swift had a great night, winning 4 out of 4 nominations. Taking in to consideration that she has won various other awards such as the MTV VMA award causing the Kanye West outburst, you can see that this young lady is truly talented.
Although Carrie Underwood didn't win any awards, she is still a winner in my book. Performing at the 2009 CMA Awards was an honor, and Carrie Underwood surely didn't disappoint her audience. In addition to performing at the CMA Awards 2009, she also hosted the event. This means that she was front and center in all the action. She handled her responsibility quite well.
Maybe next year Carrie Underwood will be nominated for a CMA Award or two. However, her music is still strong and beautiful and worthy of many awards.
In addition to Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum and Brad Paisley walked away with multiple awards. Brad Paisley had the highest number of nominations, so it was great to see him walk away with so many awards.

Post a Commentcarrie underwood surely had the best performence. and how about her dress, yeah... i luv carrie underwood and i think she should've been nominated for entertainer of the year + she should've won female voclaist of the year.
carrie underwood is asome! I luv her. Her perfornence of cowboy casanova was the best ever.
i loved Carrie's performance of cowboy casanova. She should have won for female vocalist of the year, not that Taylor Swift was not good but Carrie was better. Her outfit was ok.
Carrie performance was awesome! I love she has added some choreography to her performances. She knows how to deliver a song. She has the best female voice in country right now. She and Brad were great as hosts. They made the show so entertaining. Love Carrie!
I am a major fan of Carrie Underwood but keep being disappointed lately with the skimpy outfits. Those performances should be saved for the VMAs and MTV awards, country music has never been about how exciting a performance looks but just how good it sounds which Carrie didn't even sound her best because she was out of breath from dancing.
Great report and review.
I love Carrie Underwood. I think she should have won the female vocalist instead of Taylor Swift. Taylor is good but Carrie has a much more better voice. I just didn%27t like the way she dressed for the Cowboy Casanova song. She has much more class than that. She shouldn%27t change stay as she was. Classy and beautiful with a great voice.

I'm a big Carrie fan, but I wasn't too crazy about her performance of Cowboy Casanova. I love the song, but the costuming and the choreography were a little...tacky. It was a little too Britney Spears (pre-breakdown), only country. The vocals seemed a little off to me too. Carrie is one of the few singers out there who can actually sing! I'd like to see her continue to show off her vocal talent instead of taking attention away from it w/performances that focus on her as more of sex symbol than a singer. She's so much better than that! Still love her, but just hope this isn't a sign of what's to come.
carrie underwood's performance was the best of the night and it's the only thing i had fun with aside from her and Brad hosting the show. carrie always asks her mother or the authority if her clothes are revealing too much skin..and she's dressed like that (sexy but still classy, ALWAYS!) because of the song! let's give carrie recognition, she's doing something new..something she hasn't tried. AND SHE DID SOMETHING A REAL PERFORMER IN ANY CATEGORY HAS NEVER DONE...SING THE "ORIGINAL STUDIO VERSION" of the song "LIVE" while dancing, hitting notes right on the money! she's an IDOL!
