Carrie Underwood CMA Performance Video: "Cowboy Casanova" Dress was Hot

Carrie Underwood Might Have Lost Award, but Her CMA Awards Performance is in Greater Demand Than Any Other

The beautiful and talented Carrie Underwood co-hosted the 43rd Annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards ceremony Wednesday night in Nashville, Tennessee, and her performance of "Cowboy Casanova" has become a video viral hit. The song landed at #1 on the Billboard Country singles chart the same week her brand new album, "Play On," debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, the Digital Albums chart and the Country Albums chart. But the big production number Carrie Underwood did on stage at the 2009 CMA Awards got everyone's attention as her performance featured the then reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year strutting sexily with a troupe of sexy dancers. There is little doubt as to why Carrie Underwood's performance is on demand as those who saw it want to watch it again and again -- and those who didn't want to see her performance for the first time.

Carrie Underwood began "Cowboy Casanova" in the center of a raised area, seated. As the black-clad leggy dancers moved away, she stood, revealing some silvery short-shorts underneath a split front cream-colored dress that were as distracting as her long legs. And they kept distracting, as the former American Idol winner stepped down onto the CMA Awards stage proper to sing.

After the performance, co-host Brad Paisley (and winner of two CMA Awards Wednesday night), asked the audience, "How hot was that dress?" After slight pause for the applause, Paisley said, "You wouldn't believe the view that Little Jimmy Dickens got backstage. Paramedics say he's been stabilized."

The dress was one of many for the night. Besides the "Cowboy Casanova" performance ensemble, Carrie Underwood may have changed clothes after each stage exit and commercial. At the beginning of the awards ceremony, Brad Paisley asked the audience how they liked her dress, which was followed by loud applause and whistles. He said, "If you like that one, wait till you see her in dresses 2 through 14."

It is difficult to say which number the "Cowboy Casanova" performance ensemble was, but for many it ranked as the #1 outfit of the night. Hence, the viral video on YouTube.

Athough Carrie Underwood lost her bid for Female Vocalist of the Year (Taylor Swift won) for a fourth year in a row, country music fans will no doubt remember her performance for years to come, just as no one has forgotten that hot pink tuxedo number worn by Shania Twain a few years ago. And there is certainly no doubt that there are a few thanking the heavens that YouTube exists, especially if they missed Carrie Underwood's performance Wednesday night.
