Carrie Underwood Going to Australia for 'Deluxe Play on Tour'

Carrie Underwood is heading "Down Under" with her "Play On Tour" to promote the release of her new CD, "Play On Deluxe Edition." The "Play On Deluxe Edition" features Carrie's "Play On" CD and a new CD containing 6 cuts of her top selling singles.

This will be Underwood's first visit to Australia, which is scheduled for mid-June, 2011. Underwood will also be visiting New Zealand and promoting her movie debut in "Soul Surfer" which will be released in Australia at the end of May. During her spare time, Underwood hopes to have some time to explore and do some site-seeing.

The "Play On Tour" will visit the cities of Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and New Zealand. Underwood expressed her excitement about the tour on her official website saying, "I am really looking forward to my first trip to Australia. I can't wait to meet my fans down under, and hope to make some new fans too! I've always dreamed of playing in Australia, and hope to have time to explore some of the sights this amazing country has to offer!"

Underwood just surpassed Kelly Clarkson last week as the Number 1 artists in album sales from the winners of American Idol with over 13 million in record sales and over 18 million downloads.

Carrie's next concert appearance will be at the Grand Ole Opry, of which she is also a member, on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 before heading to Australia in mid-June. Underwood then returns to the United States to play at the Chippewa Valley Music Festival in Cadott, WI on June 25, 2011.

Underwood is a multiple Grammy winner, a multiple winner of the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Award, as well as multiple wins from the Country Music Awards and Academy of Country Music for Female Vocalist of the Year.
