Carrie Underwood to Return to American Idol on April 21, 2010
Idol Gives Back has been the highlight of each season for the last couple of years with performances by various well known artists and past winners and participants of American Idol. Underwood won American Idol during the 2005 season. Since that time, she has soared to stardom in the county music scene with No. 1 hit songs and albums.
Underwood has participated in all of the Idol Gives Back shows since the special show began in 2007. Some of the organizations benefiting from the donations are Feeding America, Children's Health Fund, Malaria No More and other worthy organizations.
Other performers scheduled to make appearances on this year's Idol Gives Back are The Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox,
Underwood's latest hit, "Temporary Home" hit No. 1 on the country music charts on April 3, 2010. It marks the 12th single to hit No. 1 for the talented singer.
Carrie is also nominated for 5awards in the upcoming 45th Academy of Country Music Awards to be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Reba McIntyre will once again be this year's host of the event.
Underwood captured nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for "Play On," Song the Year for "Cowboy Casanova," and Vocal Event of the Year for "I Told You So."
The Academy of Country Music will be allowing fans to vote for several awards this year. You can vote for Carrie for the Entertainer of the Year by logging on to VoteAMC.com
Underwood will also be performing during the award show, which will be carried live by CBS at 7:00 Central Standard Time.
