Casa Bugatti Vera Kettle: High Tech Tea Drinking

Carmaker Bugatti Releases the Most High Tech Tea Kettle of All Time

Okay, here's the deal. The Casa Bugatti Vera Kettle costs around $300 (or 185 British Pounds). That's the first thing you should know, because the price alone may immediately turn you off to what may be the most high-tech tea kettle ever made.

If you're familiar with the Bugatti brand of cars, then you're probably not surprised by the cost of the futuristic looking Vera Kettle, which prominently features a beautiful handle-embedded display screen that puts R2D2's blinking lights to shame. The LED display has digital water level readers, adjustable temperature settings, and programmable timers so you can have your water boiled automatically in time for your next work break.

Still, R2D2 may have had more functionality than the Bugatti Kettle. Let's be honest--it boils water. But that's all it has to do and it does it in style. Boasting a tall, conical shape and nine beautiful colors you can choose from, this kettle is a tea-drinking design nerd's water-boiling dream.

Lest you think the Vera kettle is just pretty, it also has some eco-friendly attributes that may appeal to the well-off green enthusiast. Bugatti claims that the kettle will heat water 25% faster than "normal" kettles and will also save 25% more energy. These are both good things.

If you're in love with this kettle, here are two things you can tell your rich friend or maybe your boss as to why you deserve it.

1) It boils water fast and efficiently, even allowing you to preset a timer for your water to be ready for your next break. This will make you more productive and able to get more work done and thus be more valuable to your company (or friend or spouse).

2) Promise to always make the tea or instant coffee (see Starbucks Via, it's pretty darn good). Maybe you can wrangle the CasaBugatti Vera Electric Kettle from a friend or workmate in direct exchange for making the tea or coffee every time. A burden, yes, but one you'll be willing to live with.

One of the biggest deterrents to purchasing high tech showpiece home appliances is that it always hurts when they get that first scratch or ding. It's reminiscent of the first scratch on a brand new car or, more similarly, like the first smudge on your new white tennis shoes. It's like the patina of perfection is broken, the downhill decline begins and you stop caring as much.

There are many people out there who may not mind receiving the Bugatti Vera Electric Kettle as a gift, even if it means they may have to upgrade their kitchens just to keep up with the in-your-face forward-looking style of the beautiful water boilers. If the cost of the kettle sounds like too much, then just try calling a local contractor for quotes on a kitchen remodel. It's a different ball game entirely.

Overall, the Vera kettle is a very cool product. It's fun, it's a great conversation piece, and it actually does a very good job with it's main charge, which is to heat water, and to heat it fast. Still, it probably only really appeals to people who fall in love with it's cool, unique, interesting, and somewhat ground-breaking design. That LED display might hook quite a few people as well.
