These Organic French Fries Were Really, Really Good and I Am Glad that I Got Them

I don't normally get frozen french fries when I am grocery shopping. Fries, chips and other fun junk food do not usually make it to the list of things that we need because of the fact that they are not that good for you. However, there have been a couple times in the past when I got some french fries just for fun and the last time that I was grocery shopping I got some more. One of the bags of frozen french fries that I got was Cascadian Farm Crinkle Cut Organic French Fries. The next time that I made veggie burgers I planned on having them and unlike potatoes I could just stick the bag in my freezer until I needed to heat them up.

To be honest I prefer to make my own oven fries. I have done it a lot and actually have how to make them down pretty good. One thing that is particularly tricky with making oven fries in the summertime though is the temperature that you have your oven on at and the length of time that you have to have your oven on. This is one of the reasons that I wanted to try the Cascadian Farm Crinkle Cut Organic French Fries, that and the fact that they were only about three dollars. Before putting the bag into the freezer I glanced at the ingredients. The french fries were made out of organic potatoes, canola oil, apple juice concentrate and citric acid. The citric acid was used to preserve a natural potato color and the apple juice concentrate was used on the french fries to promote oven browning. I thought that this was fascinating and a mental note to remember that the next time that I made my own oven fries.

It wasn't long before I had an opportunity to use the Cascadian Farm Crinkle Cut Organic French Fries along side a veggie burger. I following the directions in baking the fries because I didn't want to over or under cook them. All that I had to do was preheat my oven to four hundred and twenty-five degrees, place the organic french fries on to an ungreased baking sheet and then bake them between fifteen and eighteen minutes, turning the fries over after ten minutes. The was very easy to do and actually was about the perfect length of time because the prep and cooking process of my veggie burgers was about twenty minutes. The organic french fries turned out wonderful. With this cooking method they were not too crunchy and were all nice and warm. I was quite pleased with the out come.

After dinner I looked over the bag of Cascadian Farm Crinkle Cut Organic French Fries to see what kind of nutrition I was getting out of the french fries, I hoped that there was at least some good nutrition to them. In about three ounces of french fries, which translated into eighteen two to three inch pieces, there was one hundred and ten calories with thirty-five calories from fat. There was only ten milligrams of salt, which I am sure was so low because the fries were unsalted. There was also four hundred and thirty milligrams of potassium, seventeen grams of carbohydrates, two grams of both fiber and protein and only one gram of sugars in the french fries as well. Iron was list with four percent in the minerals and vitamins section of the organic french fries nutrition facts also. All in all I thought that the nutrition facts looked pretty good.

Overall I really like the taste and texture that came with the Cascadian Farm Crinkle Cut Organic French Fries. They had some good nutrition and I really liked that they were made from organic potatoes and didn't have any salt. I would get these french fries again, if only just for fun, but I think that I will wait until they go on sale just to save some money when I do. I would recommend for anyone to give these organic french fries a try as I don't think that you will be disappointed with them, I know that I wasn't.
