Case Against Obama Care Reported as "Distorted," but Is It?

Recent reports indicate that President Obama as saying that escalating debates are being fought by people using scare tactics. Whether this is true or not of course is being further investigated.

Meanwhile, it is important that people understand the biggest concerns regarding the Health Care Bill being promoted right now by President Obama. Furthermore, any misconceptions they might have should also be addressed.

MSNBC.com says, "...there is no clear-cut "Obama plan" or "Democratic plan." Right now the plan drawn out concerning health care is just a basic outline and no more.

All week long confusing messages have been given about what this plan exactly entails. That is why many major sources such as Fortune Magazine are now speaking out to explain to people the truth. Senior Editor-at-Large Geoff Colvin Says:

"The stakes are high -- trillions of dollars, the reelection prospects of hundreds of legislators, and President Obama's legacy. So let's acknowledge right now that nobody will be fighting fair. We will hear half-truths, shameless spin, and outright lies coming from all sides."

These are some of the very important misconceptions that currently need addressing:

Nationalizing health care would force people to consider assisted suicide for sick or aging loved ones. However, legislators in favor of the National Health Care Bill explain that although Medicare would be required to pay for advanced consultations for end-of-life services, no one would be required to use them.

The provision of national health care would lead to abortions funded by the government. Some people who called into the Sean Hannity Show even wondered if the nationalization of medical coverage would also lead to mandatory abortions in the name of "population control." However, so far Obama has been denying these claims.

Rationing might eventually be required. In extreme cases throughout history, this might have been an issue. For instance, rationing was mandatory throughout the world during World War I and World War II. However, so far Obama has said that this is not part of the plan either.

Additional fears were expressed by people as well, and in response to these explanations to the contrary had been printed. However, it does not mean the fight is over and right now Republicans have their guard up and are fighting tooth and nail.

However, I do not think this is about Democrat or Republican. It is about preservation of personal freedoms. I personally am not against receiving help from the government but I also fear the possibility of being taken over by the government.

I would not want to use unscrupulous practices to convince my points of view on someone else though. I prefer just to educate people on what I know.
