Casey Anthony Case: Caylee is Missing, Brian Burner Talks to Detectives, and Someone Steals Gas Cans from George Anthony

Casey Anthony had borrowed a shovel from her neighbor, Brian Burner, on June 18, 2008. Caylee Anthony was last seen on June 16,2008 by her grandfather, George Anthony. The last person to see Caylee Anthony was her killer. Though Casey had borrowed a shovel and brought it back one hour later, testimony from Brian Burner reveals that she didn't appear as if she had used it. Her clothes were clean and she didn't look as if she had broken a sweat. Brian Burner also told authorities that he saw Casey Anthony back her car into the garage on June 20^th, 2009. Burner did say, however, that Caylee could have been in the car with Casey.

He didn't see either Casey or Caylee, he only saw the car back up into the garage. To sum up Brian Burner's testimony, he saw Casey Anthony back the vehicle in the garage on June 17, and it was either June 18^th or June 19^th when Casey borrowed the shovel. On June 20^th, 2008, Brian Burner witness Casey Anthony backing her car into the garage again. After not seeing Casey's car for the following days, he and his wife came to the conclusion that Casey Anthony was moving out of her house. He wondered, however, why she would want to borrow a shovel and dig up a bamboo root if she were moving out.

Brian Burner also discussed events that transpired regarding George Anthony's stolen gas cans. He stated that George Anthony approached his son, either on June 23^rd or June 24^th, the same day that George had filed a police report with the Orange County Sheriff's Office regarding the stolen gas cans. Brian Burner wasn't sure what day George Anthony approached him. However, it was the 24^th of 2008. He said that George Anthony told him someone had broken into his shed and stole his gas cans. George Anthony filed a police report and estimated the gas cans and its value to be approximately $50.00.

Brian also recounted seeing Casey and a male at the home on approximately June 23, 2008, though he couldn't be certain of the date. He wasn't sure what color the pickup truck was either. He didn't want to get too involved as he and his wife knew that the Anthony's were having family problems. According to the police report filed by George Anthony, two gas cans were stolen from his shed.
