Casey Anthony Found Not Guilty of Murder and Two Other Indictments

Anthony was Found Guilty on 4 Counts of False Information

Karen Barnes

While the Casey Anthony trial was one of the most watched trials in the history of television, media, and curious people, she was charged with the death of her daughter, Caylee. After a span of six weeks in a court, Casey learnt of her fate from jurors in the courtroom on July 5, 2011.

The jury had deliberated just over a day after hearing all the testimony of officers, family, and friends whom were involved in finding the truth about Caylee's death.

The jury came back with not guilty on three charges pertaining to Caylee's death. They did find her guilty on four counts.

The charges against Casey on Caylee's death.

Count One: Murder in the First Degree - Not Guilty

Count Two: Aggravated Child Abuse - Not Guilty

Count Three: Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child - Not Guilty

The charges against Casey for lying and providing false information to Police officers.

Count Four through Seven: Providing False Information to Police Officers - Guilty

Sentencing for Casey Anthony on the four counts of providing false information to the police.

Casey, family, friends, and a nation following this high profile trail will not know what type of punishment she will be faced with on the last four counts until Thursday, July 7, 2011. This is the day she and her attorneys will return to Judge Belvin Perry's courtroom.

Even with being found guilty and awaiting sentencing for providing false information to the police, will she be provided special arrangements while serving her time for those charges? Will she live in the same areas with others sentenced in similar crimes? Will she have special privileges?

Will her attorneys try to get her a lessor sentencing? Will they try to keep her out of prison? The speculation as to this can be anyone's guess until Judge Perry hands down sentencing.

My view of the outcome of the counts read in court today.

After the JonBenet Ramsey case, one would think a harder look into the death of Caylee would be in order. This type of crime committed against children is uncalled for and needless.

JonBenet Ramsey case all over again.

Those who heard the verdict in the Casey trial were tweeting about the verdict of this high profile case compare it to the JonBonet and Nicole Simpson cases. They felt the court system failed the victims and their families due to the outcome of the jury's verdicts in all cases.

They are also wondering who killed Caylee, JonBenet, and Nicole. These are three cases where people are wanting to know who is going to pick up the slack and find justice for the two children and Nicole.

Tweeters are livid over the not guilty verdict.

The reactions of the people using the hash tag #caseyanthonyverdict on Twitter doesn't surprise me in the least. They are outraged that another child had been murdered and no one is to take the blame in the child's death.

They took the not guilty verdicts on the first degree murder charge as saying it's okay to kill your children, but it's not okay to lie to police. Others believe the verdicts on those first three counts could have been different if it hadn't been death penalty case.
