The Casey Anthony trial is over; and much to the shock of most Americans, she is found not guilty. I believe the jury did their job and did the right thing in acquitting her of murdering or abusing her child, and of all other criminal charges attached to her case. The bottom line is that her defense attorney did a good job in reminding the jurors that if they had doubts, then they must acquit Casey Anthony. This sounds like the "if it doesn't fit, you must acquit" chant of Johnny Cochran who successfully got O.J Simpson acquitted of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson's death (and that of Ron Goldman).
But does the fact that the jury said "not guilty" mean that Casey Anthony is innocent?
I personally believe that all members of the Anthony family know something about Caylee's death, and they are not sharing. I mean, what kind of mother fails to report a missing child until 31 days later, and when she did report it, she went about giving false statements after another about what happened to her daughter or where she might be found? Only a psychopath capable of hurting her own offspring can do such a heinous thing.
As for Cindy Anthony the grandmother, why does she wait till 31 days to report the child missing? Casey was 21 when this event happened. Doesn't she know what her daughter is capable of doing? When Casey repeatedly lied about why the grandparents couldn't see Caylee over the course of that 31 days, why didn't she pick up on the idea that her daughter might have been up to no good, and report her granddaughter missing?
The same goes for George Anthony; why didn't he press his daughter to reveal where Caylee was sooner? I believe the answer to these questions lie in the fact that these people are all in on what happened to the poor little Caylee. They know something and instead of adamantly stating who did it, they are resorting to finger pointing and revelation of family secrets and list of accusations that have nothing to shed about what happened to Caylee. This is all a twisted move to create doubts in the minds of jurors so that Casey Anthony could go free, and she will!
The Anthony's probably figure that Caylee is already dead, and to lose their daughter who could receive the death penalty would be yet another tragedy. So to minimize their loss, it is possible that the Anthony's connived to create stories that are inconsistence so that they can make the jury have ample reasonable doubt about the charges against Casey Anthony. The defense didn't help much, as they failed to establish strong evidence that directly links Casey Anthony to the murder of her daughter.
I believe the jury system works when jurors follow the exact provision for reaching guilt or innocence of defendants. However, I think their needs to be some amendments about this beyond reasonable doubt clause. Perhaps there was some reason to believe Casey was involved?
