Casey Anthony Trial Wrapping Up: My Thoughts

Millions of people worldwide are following the day to day live television coverage of the Casey Anthony murder trial. This trial is being televised live on Tru tv and Headline news. This mother is standing trial for allegedly murdering her two year old daughter. This is a death penalty qualified case. Here are my thoughts.

All admit that this trial is history in the making. Courtroom spectators have literally fought to get a ringside seat to this trial. Speaking of courtroom spectators, how about what happened on day 32? A trial watcher actually had the nerve to shoot a bird to prosecutor Jeff Ashton. He flipped him off! In front of all. Judge Belvin Perry Jr. was not amused. After asking the young man if he had animosity towards the prosecutor, the judge promptly sentenced this fool to six days in jail, contempt of court and a hefty fine. Way to go, judge! All applauded. In our minds, of course. The young man admitted that this vulgar gesture was stupid and he did not know why he did it. I suspect why. Four letters. Fame. You must admit, we all noticed this guy. Sheesh.

The trial is now over, except for closing arguments, which will be given on Sunday. This trial, the judge, the jurors, the attorneys, the defendant, none get much rest. Not even for a fourth of July holiday. Everyone feels for this jury and we all know that are ready to do their job and go back home.

Today, day 33 of this trial, the prosecution, once again, really crushed the defense. I almost heard whimpering. It has been stated that Cindy Anthony was at work, while the famed chloroform searches occurred. They produced work computer login records. Not good news for the defense. The state also presented a witness to testify that opening the skull was not needed in many autopsy cases. Good points to ponder. I have to give it to the prosecution, they presented their case in a clear, chronological and understandable manner. The defense seemed to present witnesses in a confused and hard to understand manner. Just my opinion.

After Sunday's closing arguments, this case will go to the jury, God help them. We all know that something very wrong happened to this poor child. What, exactly, the jury has to decide, if they can. I really hope a verdict can be reached. Can you imagine going through this whole trial again? Whew. Meanwhile, to me, the only one that really matters here is Caylee Anthony. I hate for her death to not be understood with a verdict. I have long since decided that Casey Anthony was wrong for not reporting her child missing or dead. When you add lies, duct tape, chloroform and bizarre behavior, we all have to wonder. In America, we are all innocent until proven guilty. I try very hard to remember that fact, as we all wait for this trial's end. In the meantime, we remember Caylee Anthony and pray for justice.
