Casey Knowles Actually an Obama Supporter

Casey Knowles is that 8-year-old girl you might have seen in a recent Hillary Clinton commercial. The little girl from the commercial is now 18, and she actually supports Obama. According to Boston.com, Knowles feels that Clinton's ad is fear-mongering. She says she prefers Obama's message of a bright future. The footage was originally shot for a railroad commercial and was bought by the Clinton Campaign. The ad must have helped Clinton in Texas. It aired before the vote in Texas last week, and Clinton was able to win the Texas primary.

I know what it feels like to be in commercials that you later have no control of. Starting when I was 4 years old, I was in many different commercials. Every commercial I was in was in was a very unique and different experience. Being a young girl involved in the acting industry can be a fun experience, but at times it can also be a very trying experience. While I have never regretted any commercials or the time I spent doing the commercials, I know many young kids that do regret it. I have a feeling now Knowles might be regretting the commercial she was in.

The first commercial that I clearly remember doing was a commercial for Heart to Heart Bears, it was a toy that when you pushed on the heart it would beat. This was a very fun commercial to make. I had to pretend to sleep and snuggle with the Heart to Heart Bear. When filming a commercial you have to do so many takes, and repeat the same thing over and over.

When your a young girl in commercials so much has to do with the director. While I have very fond memories of the Heart to Heart Bear Commercial, there are other commercial that were fun but were a lot of really hard work. I was in a McDonald's commercial and it was hard to get everything so precise. I remember I had to make sure I set each product on the exact spot that was marked for each item. As a young kid that can be hard.

I also did several print shoots, one was for the Easy Bake oven. I was on the box of the Easy Bake Oven. The thing that was weird about this experience is that years later I would see an Easy Bake Oven box with my picture on it. It was weird to be so much older, and still seeing your picture on the box of the Easy Bake Oven. When I was a teenager a girl that I babysat for got an Easy Bake Oven. She was so excited when she saw the box and realized that she knew the person that was on it. It was sometimes weird to see myself years later.

Fortunately, unlike Knowles, I never was in a position where I truly didn't like the message that a commercial was sending. It can be hard because once you are in the commercial you lose all rights to what happens to it. You have to hope won't be used in a way you wouldn't want. Knowles was put in a unique situation, unfortunately for her it wasn't the Obama campaign that choose to buy her commercial.
