Should our government need to have put constraints on something like cash for clunkers for us to act responsibly? We see job loss, foreclosures, and the market crumbling around us. Common sense will lend itself to us to see GM alone means millions of jobs for Americans and the smaller shops that feed off GM are countless as well. Why do we want to support the further downward trend or slow the recovery of our own people? Do we not want our friends and family to eat? We should be ashamed of ourselves. I have nothing against Toyota or Honda, in fact they make a darn good car. Maybe even better than a car we make, but we should not turn our back on ourselves. Lets give America a chance, at least be supportive of ourselves.
I can understand why unions have weakened and continue to fail. Unity has no real meaning for the majority of Americans. For to many it has become all about ones self. We need to get back to basics, the ideals and values that built this great country we call home. I agree change is required to save our auto industry, but they still need our support to recover. We will never be ahead of the competition if we continue to support the competition. All of us know someone directly effected by the auto industries crumbling, much of it being there own fault. But should we continue to pour salt in the wound or help promote the healing process?
So if you are the proud owner of a new Prius I want to thank you for your support and hope this is at least cause to think. There are so many things that are frustrating with GM I know there are going to be many folks who want to express a mouthful after reading this. Just consider one question before blowing up. What would do the most good for the most people?
