Cashcrate - Does it Really Give You 'free' Money?

See If You Can Earn a Little Extra with Cashcrate

Along my travels for research I came across a site called Cashcrate. Cashcrate is a website that offers money when you sign up for other offers. Intrigued I thought I'd take a quick peek to see if it actually does what it says it will.

Sign up was easy, input personal details such as name, address (for mailing checks), and email address. You can enter your telephone number but this is optional. I don't tend to put my phone number on anything even if they do say they won't use it.

Members from any English speaking country is able to register, how easy it will be for countries other than the US to receive the checks, I have yet to find out.

So into the site I went... There is a list of all the offers that you have to complete and then submit to say you have done them. Seems simple enough right! So I went ahead and did a couple. I completed a sign up for a survey site and got $0.75 for it. I completed a couple of others that required nothing but a name and email address. I received $1.5 for another survey site I completed.

So far so good...

Some of the offers are ones that require either a credit card or money up front. The reward for these offers is obviously larger, some of them are $15 and the list on the site clearly states which require credit cards or payment and which don't. From what I can see there are only 4 offers that require your credit card details, the total payment for these is $48.

The total for the free offers is $33.50; these vary from $0.30 to $10.00 per offer. Now, how often these offers are updated I have no idea, I only joined a few moments ago and I will keep everyone updated on how I get on.

You also get daily surveys to complete which also you get money rewards for as well as other rewards which you get points. I searched for the offers that you receive points for completing, but they don't appear to have any at this time. Another thing to mention is that I couldn't actually find anywhere that told me what the points were for! A mystery indeed!

The site claims that they will send out the payments once the balance reaches $10. Which is great for US residents, but as I am in the UK, the banks will probably charge me more to exchange it when I cash it!

There is also a forum for members which as it stands has 17,924 members, and only 1,259 members are regularly active on the forums!

There is also a forum for other deals, coupons and free stuff.

If you want to check it out you can, you could get an easy $30 for not a lot of work other than inputting a few details. If you do join, let me know how you get on! You certainly won't become rich by doing this, but with their generous referral program you could easily make quite a tidy sum.

HMMM. . .I am leary of these sites too, thanks for the article. I'd like to read a follow up article on this in 2 months to see if you've been paid and how much junk mail you've received since then.
