Casio Printing Calculator Product Review

HR-100TM PLUS-W

Kassidy Emmerson
It's Tax Season again, as Sophie S. reminds us with "Preparing to File Self-Employment Taxes: What You Need to Remember". I like to get my self-employment taxes done and over with ASAP. It makes it a little less painful that way. As I started the daunting task, Murphy's Law took effect: "If anything can go wrong, it will." (Read Norman A. Rubin's "Murphy's Law - the Origins") My desktop calculator died. So, I had to stop what I was doing and go out to purchase a new one. I don't do "heavy-duty calculations", so just about any old calculator works for me. I only had three basic requirements: 1) The cost was low, 2) It doesn't hog-up a lot of space, and 3) It's easy to operate. Read this Casio Printing Calculator product review and find out all about it.

Price and Availability
I found the Casio Printing Calculator at Office World for $21.95. I'm not sure where else you can find it besides Amazon.com. They carry everything imaginable. You may even buy a good-used one from Amazon and get it even cheaper.

Product Description
This Casio Printing Calculator doesn't take-up a lot of space. It measures 6-1/4 inches wide and 8-1/2 inches long. It's lightweight- it weighs less than 2 pounds without batteries. The calculator is compact, but the keyboard is extra-large and easy to see and use. It includes tax calculations, cost-sell-margin calculations, currency exchange calculations, a grand total function, and a full decimal system.

The display on the Casio Printing Calculator is 12 digits. You can print in red and black both at a quick two lines per second. And, this calculator runs on 4 AA batteries or it plugs into the wall with the AC adapter that's included.

The Casio Printing Calculator comes practically ready-to-use out of the box. All you have to do is snap the paper holder into place and install the paper roll. It uses plain 2-1/4 inch paper rolls. The ink roller is already installed and ready to print.

This calculator has an easy-to-follow user's guide and a one-year warranty.

Test Results and Conclusion
I completed my income taxes using my new Casio Printing Calculator. I couldn't find anything negative about it. The bigger keys are easier to hit. I made less mistakes by not hitting the wrong keys. The printer is quick. Kind of noisy, but fast nonetheless.

I give the Casio Printing Calculator two thumbs up! I'm pleased with everything about it. If you need a calculator for general tasks like doing your income taxes, this is the machine for you. I'm not sure I would choose it for heavy-duty calculating. I'm not sure it would hold up.

What a bargain, and I like the fact that the keys are a bit larger :)

It's amazing how they can make a good product so cheaply. Good report.
