Casio's YouTube Digital Cameras

Casio America will soon be releasing in September, two new digital cameras, the EX-V8 and the EX-Z1080. Both cameras will be part of Casio's EXILIM Zoom series and will incorporate a YouTube capture mode.

The YouTube capture mode, according to Casio, will allow users to shoot and save movies using the optimum size, quality and other settings on YouTube. Included with a purchase of the digital cameras is Casio's exclusive software application that would allow users to easily upload movies to YouTube.

Bill Heuer, Vice President of Sales for Casio's Digital Imaging Division says that Casio strive to makes advancement on their popular EXILIM digital cameras every year. The new EXILIM models are the products of those advancements. Heuer further adds that the new models have the standard features of the Casio's EXILIM line as well as new technologies like the YouTube Capture Mode and a new EXILIM Engine that has a high performance image processing module. "If you ever needed an excuse to shoot photos and videos of friends or family these EXILIM cameras are it!" Heuer says.

Features common to both cameras include: video capture using H.264 standard, face detection technology and the auto-tracking AF system using motion analysis technology that can maintain both sharp focus and correct exposure for a human face, EXILIM Engine 2.0 image processing module which can set the most appropriate ISO sensitivity and shutter speed, Anti Shake DSP, electronic image stabilization function in movie mode, and SDHC Memory Card / SD Memory Card / Multimedia Card / Multimedia Card plus compatible.

The EXILIM Hi-Zoom EX-V8 has 8.1 effective mega pixels, 7x optical zoom, CCD-shift image stabilization mechanism, a 2.5 inch LCD display, and a 4 shot per second high-speed continuous shutter at 2.0 mega pixel image size, and focus modes includes; Auto Focus, Macro Mode, Infinity Mode, Manual Focus.

The EXILIM Zoom EX-Z1080 on the other hand has a 10.1 effective mega pixels, 3x optical zoom, maximum of ISO 6400, a BEST SHOT function in high-sensitivity shooting mode, 2.6 inch widescreen LCD display, maximum of 7 shots per second high-speed continuous shutter at 2.0 mega pixel image size, Super Life Battery which according to Casio allows 370 shots when fully charged, 11.4 MB built-in flash memory, Focus modes includes; Auto Focus (still image only), Macro Mode, Pan Focus (movie mode), Infinity Mode, and Manual Focus, and available in gray, black, blue and pink colors.

Both models will be available on September 14 and will cost $329.99 for the EX-V8 and $279.99 for the EX-Z1080 model.
