"Pan Am" is the new ABC TV show about a group of people who work for Pan Am airlines during the 1960s. Mostly because of the period, Pan Am seems to be jetting up to be a female oriented version of the hit series "Mad Men". Actors Mike Vogel and Michael Mosely star on Pan Am as pilots. And actresses Christina Ricci, Kelli Garner, Karine Vanasse, and Margot Robbie are featured as stewardesses. More on the Pan Am cast:
Christina Ricci as Maggie
Christina Ricci plays the character Maggie on Pan Am. Maggie is described, on ABC.com, as being a "rebellious bohemian who transforms into a buttoned-up professional for work so she can see the world." Christina Ricci is probably the most recognizable of the cast considering her former film roles in movies like The Addams Family, The Ice Storm, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Monster, and Black Snake Moan.
Kelli Garner as Kate
Kelli Garner plays Pan Am stewardess Kate. Some might recognize her from the disappointing, short-lived TV series My Generation. She has had steady work in Hollywood for the past ten years, but hasn't broken out on the big screen despite a promising part in the 2006 film Dreamland. My personal favorite, though, is her role as Margot in the overlooked film Lars and the Real Girl.
Karine Vanasse as Colette
Karine Vanasse plays the flirty French stewardess Colette. Pan Am will mark her debut to American TV audiences. While the character Colette is from France, the actress is actually a French-speaking Canadian.
Margot Robbie as Laura
Margot Robbie plays Kate's little sister, Laura. Margot Robbie is an Australian actress best known to those down under for her role as Donna in the soap opera Neighbours. In an interview talking about the girdles the ladies of the Pan Am cast wear, the actress said she doesn't know how women in the 60's got dressed by themselves.
Mike Vogel as Dean
Jonah Latan was originally cast to play the character Dean on Pan Am. There was a cast change after the pilot though, and Mike Vogel replaced Jonah Latan. Dean is described by ABC.com as being a "cocky, charismatic, ambitious new pilot". Mike Vogel started off his career as a model, and eventually landed parts in the TV series Grounded for Life and films such as Cloverfield, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, She's Out of My League, and Blue Valentine. Most recently, he played Dr. Chris Deleo on the canceled TV show Miami Medical.
Michael Mosley as Ted
Cast as co-pilot Ted is actor Michael Mosley. Michael Mosley has been on previous TV shows such as Scrubs, Kidnapped, and Justified.
Pan Am airs Sundays on ABC.
